OUR STORY
A hanok (Korean: 한옥) is a traditional Korean house. It just happen to be a combination of the owners’ names (Han: 한 and Jade: 옥). To us, Hanok represents a place of comfort and joy. Where life’s happenings are shared over tasty home cooked meals. Our focus is to bring our home cooking to your table. We would love for you to come in and be comfortable enjoying a great taste of a Hanok meal.
Opening Hanok Asian Eatery in Madison Park is a dream 15 years in the making. The desire had always been there for Jade. However, the time and opportunity did not align until 2018.
Jade grew up in Korea and moved to Seattle for school when she was 19. Han was born in Korea but immigrated to Seattle when he was 8. The two met at church then began their life’s journey together in 2000.
As new faces in Madison Park and as parents of two daughters, Han and Jade are looking to get involved with the community, particularly when it comes to youth or youth sports.
“We want to grow with the community and we want to be invested in the community, We’ll definitely be looking for places where we can help. Obviously, until we grow big, we won’t be able to provide much. But from the get-go we want to make sure we provide a little bit of support.” – Han & Jade (Hanok)
